Akat is a town in the south eastern region of the country.
The people of the area is predominantly farmers and fisher men. They survive
with what they get from their daily farming and traditional fishing. However,
the town is blessed with abundant mineral resources such as crude oil and other
minerals. Nevertheless the revenue from the oil are being hijacked by those in
authority and hardly get to the average person in this town.
Miss favour is born and brought up in this village and she
has a promising future. Her parents tried their possible best to give her the
best in life. Her secondary and primary school was attended in one of the best
government school in the locality. After her secondary education favour could
not further her education after every effort by her parents to make sure that
she attended higher education. Favour
travelled to Lagos in search of greener pasture. Fortunately for her she got a job with one
construction company as a cook and she was doing marvellously well.
Samuel is a staff of the construction company and who
happened to be from the same village with miss favour. The two people started
relating and became intimate friends. After years of friendship and dating mr
Samuel proposed marriage to miss favour which she accepted. The marriage was one of the best in the
village because the company co- sponsored it. The couples were living happily and enjoying
their lives. Unfortunately, the company where the couples are working exhausted
all the contracts they have and could not secure new ones. Because of this challenge
the company started laying off their employees. Mr and Mrs Samuel was seriously
affected. Two of them lost their jobs.
Life became seriously tough that they started having
challenges of live, how to feed and carter for their three children became very
difficult. So another man came into the life of madam favour and was helping
her to offset some bills such as children’s school fees. Two of them started relating intimately that a
point madam favour lied to the man that she has divorced her husband. Having
heard this the new man in her life advised her that they should relocate from
Lagos to another city. Which they did.
When Samuel was aware of what happened he started looking for his wife. With all the efforts of some
friends and relations Samuel was able to locate his wife and his new boy
friend.
Jimmy started accusing Mrs favour for playing prank, that she
has deceived him by telling him that she is no more interested with her husband.
That it was what made him to got hooked to her. And since all these while she
did not tell him that she is still relating to her husband and even went to an extent to
deceive him that he is the one that fathered one of her children. He threatened fire that he will make sure
that favour remain more confused in her life.
However, according to custom and
tradition of the people, Favour cannot relate to her husband intimately without
attracting the wrath of the gods. She cannot make use of any money from Samuel
neither can she eat any food stuff from Samuel. Only the children are free to
eat anything brought by their father. So the children are enjoying whereas
their mother is confused and did not no which way to follow.
Patience is a plant that does not grow in every man’s farm but if it does you are lucky.
