The passage known as the Great Commission at the end of the book of Matthew is a powerful reminder for all parents. Jesus says, "All power is given to me in heaven and earth." This means that no situation, location, or relationship in parenting is outside the rule of King Christ. Furthermore, Jesus promises, "Lo, I am with you always." This assurance that God is with us in every moment, promising never to leave or forsake us, is profoundly comforting.

. He bore it all so that even on our worst parenting days, we would never feel abandoned by God. We will never experience God turning away from us. This realization is vital because if we try to carry all the burdens and responsibilities of our children on our own shoulders, we will inevitably become overwhelmed, discouraged, and even hopeless.

It's essential to remind ourselves repeatedly that God is for us and with us. He rules over what we cannot control and provides us with what we lack on our own. This knowledge allows us to find rest, knowing that as parents, we are never alone. By placing our trust in God's presence and grace, we can navigate the difficulties of parenting with a sense of peace and assurance.
